Why it's a good idea to sponsor your dolphin

• The Haines Dolphins Swim Team (HDST) has 61 members
• Nearly half the K-8 school-age kids in Haines are on the swim team, plus many teens
• It's a FANTASTIC program with amazingly talented coaches
• The team's focus is in the right place: self-improvement (not on competition except as a tool to encourage the athlete's development as a swimmer)
• The team is a member of USA Swimming, participates in regional competitions (this season alone, swimmers will have had opportunities to travel to Whitehorse, Juneau, Fairbanks, Anchorage and Federal Way, in addition to hosting one meet and several time trials locally)
• Money raised in the swim-a-thon stays in Haines to fund equipment, pool rental and coach salaries
