The Haines Dolphins Swim Team was organized in 1997 by a group of dedicated volunteers. Our first year we sent one swimmer to Junior Olympics. Seven years later we sent our first swimmer to Nationals and had 13 qualifiers for Junior Olympics. We have grown to be one of the largest youth sports organization in Haines, operating from September through April every year.
Our swimmers have brought home numerous High Point Awards, Percentage of Best Times awards, and Most Points Per Swimmer awards in recent years. We've developed a reputation in the Alaska swimming community for having a small, high-quality team.
Swim-a-Thon
...is coming! Our kickoff pool party is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Monday, February 20. All team members and kiddos enrolled in swim lessons are encourage to participate. This is an important fundraiser for the team, and pays for all kids of things. The prize posters will be revealed at the kickoff party, too.
