Haines Dolphins Swim Team

The Haines Dolphins Swim Team was organized in 1997 by a group of dedicated volunteers. Our first year we sent one swimmer to Junior Olympics. Seven years later we sent our first swimmer to Nationals and had 13 qualifiers for Junior Olympics. We have grown to be one of the largest youth sports organization in Haines, operating from September through April every year.

Our swimmers have brought home numerous High Point Awards, Percentage of Best Times awards, and Most Points Per Swimmer awards in recent years. We've developed a reputation in the Alaska swimming community for having a small, high-quality team.

The Squads

The Dolphins Swim Team is divided into squads based on skill level and experience. Which swimmer swims in which squad will be determined by the coaching staff.

Practice

Practices start at 3:30pm.

Typically, the younger swimmers swim for about an hour, intermediate swimmes swim for about an hour and a half and experienced swimmers for 2 hours.

Dues

The Dolphins are currently a seasonal team, swimming from September through April. Dues are paid by the 6th of each month. The 2012/2013 squad structure and dues will be posted here as soon as they are available. The first month's dues for September 2012 is $40/swimmer regardless of squad.
